“Unfortunately, we as a nation have apostatized in various degrees from different Constitutional principles as proclaimed by the inspired founders. We are fast approaching that . . . prophesied [moment] . . . : “Even this nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground, and when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction . . .” Ezra Taft Benson
I don’t know whether we’re at that point right now or whether it will be a few more years before we’re completely there, but I do know that we have a chance to stand up this very year and make a real difference in saving our Constitution.
This is an election unlike any other of which I am aware. On the one side we have the choice of socialism or progressivism. For the unaware, they are the same basic thing, only they march toward communism at different rates of speed and with a different micro focus at any given time. On the other side we have fascism, which is like the other two things only more abruptly tyrannical in nature. These ideas are evident in the history, policy, speech, and mannerisms of three of the leading candidates: Sanders, Clinton, and Trump. These three ideas have the destruction of the Constitution as an imperative. These three ideas have been responsible for the unjust deaths of over 100 million people in the last 100 years alone.
Obama has been working tirelessly for almost 8 years to fundamentally transform America. He’s been relentlessly chipping away at the Constitutional foundation. And now Sanders, Clinton, and Trump are eager to finish the job.
How many more millions of people will have to be mercilessly slaughtered before we realize that communism (and its various forms) doesn’t work? We’ve rejected it already. Why are we flirting with it again? I urge you to reject socialism, progressivism, fascism, and communism. Reject them because they are deadly.
But the Constitution was inspired by God our Eternal Father. You can tell. Read the Declaration of Independence and tell me that it doesn’t glow with the signature of God’s plan of righteous liberty. And the Constitution’s purpose is to secure to individuals and families their God-given righteous rights and moral agency. Its purpose is to create a government organization that may not act out on socialist, progressive, fascist, and communistic ideas. In other words, one of the core purposes of the Constitution is to limit the federal government so that WE THE PEOPLE may be free and accountable unto God rather than men for the manner in which we use our moral agency.
Thankfully, there is a candidate who is well known for knowing, embracing, and fiercely defending the Constitution. His name is Ted Cruz.
For the first time in my life, and probably the first time in a century, we have a bona fide and proven constitutionalist with a real shot at getting elected as President.
