A New Pledge of Allegiance

By | March 20, 2016

I felt a strong desire to write a new pledge of allegiance.

The changes are obvious, and I think those sensitive to the Spirit of liberty will understand why they were made.

The old pledge of allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

A new pledge of allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to God, and I affirm that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. The United States of America is a nation of sovereign states united under an inspired charter of limited government and unalienable rights endowed upon us by our Creator. To preserve this form of government, and to defend these rights, I will exercise my right to vote, and I will hold my elected officials accountable for whether or not they support and defend the constitution, support the principles of liberty, and support equal justice under the law.

Have ideas for additions to this pledge? Please suggest them in the comments below.
